Class Descriptions
Fundamentals
This is the starting point for everyone who signs up to train at Everyday Athlete. Depending on abilities and efficiency of learning the skills this can last between 3 and 6 sessions. This is a mandatory first step for your own safety and to help you progress better within our classes.
Fight Camp Conditioning
Based around our popular Bootcamps these workouts build on our six week camps in terms of intensity and are constantly varied workouts which are designed to test your strength, endurance and cardiovascular fitness. To take part in this class you must have completed our fundamentals program or have previously completed one of our Fight Camps and have spoken to one of the EDA Coaches.
Open Gym
This is time set aside on the timetable out with our scheduled coached classes where you can come in and use the equipment, catch up on a workout you may have missed, get extra practice on a skill or just hit a bag. To take part in the open gym you must have completed the fundamentals program and be signed off by an EDA Coach.
Lunchtime HIIT
This Class is 40 mins of High Intensity Interval Training – Each Session will be different and designed to boost your metabolism and increase your fat burning potential. Bodyweight exercises, CV machines, Kettlebells, Dumbbells and variety of other pieces of kit are used within these sessions. The fundamentals program is not mandatory for this class however it is advised to get the best out of the session.
I – Lift
The I – Lift program is our main weightlifting class. Following on from the fundamentals program we will be completing a 12-15 day periodised weightlifting routine designed to get you stronger and more explosive. Each 12-15 day program phase progresses from the last and each I-Lift Session you come in for will carry on from the previous day’s progression. The Fundamentals program is mandatory prior to attending.
Strength & Conditioning
This is a hybrid class mixing weightlifting elements from our I- Lift Program and conditioning elements from our Fight Camp conditioning HIIT and circuit classes combined in a periodised 4 week program this has two sessions a week on the timetable and prior completion of the fundamentals program is mandatory.
FYF
This is our longest and often toughest session of the week. Only appearing on the timetable once a week on a Friday night it is constantly varied each week offering both physical and mental challenges, although an intense session, it can be scaled to any individual requirements. Prior completion of the Fundamentals program is mandatory before taking part in the FYF session.
Saturday Circuit
Partied too hard on a Friday Night? Cleanse yourself of those nasty bad calories by getting up on a Saturday morning and completing our Circuit – Each week you will find a new routine to get the sweat pouring.
Kids
Kids Classes
The class mainly focuses round the sport of Muay Thai, this includes using body movements such as punches, kicks and knees.
Children will learn how to use these movements through either hitting pads, punching bags or sometimes through light sparring.
The class has a mix of beginners to intermediate levels as some of the children who take part also compete around the UK in competitions to test their skills.
As well as Muay Thai we include games. Games include team work encouraging each child to communicate with each other as well as learning basic movement of light strength & conditioning exercises such as squats, push ups, sit ups and burpees.
We recommend children start at the age of 7 years old however exemptions can be made. Please contact for more info about this class.
